If this is the first time you are going to the court, then it is okay to have last minute nerves. Follow a few court room etiquettes to present yourself in a better way.

Given below are some of the court house etiquettes:
  • The first thing about courtroom etiquettes is respect. When you are in the court, you need to show respect to the judge as the representative of the judiciary system of the federal government. You also need to show respect to the courthouse process.
  • Arrive early at the courtroom and be prepared. You might have to wait but then it is better than being late at the courtroom.
  • Treat the courtroom as a formal meeting. Dress formal and no wild hairstyles or open shoes. Use of slang is strictly prohibited in the courtroom. Use formal English as much as you can.
  • Chewing tobacco or chewing gum, recording devices like I pods, mobile phones, edibles, newspapers are not permitted in the courtroom.
  • Address the judge as “Your Honor”. Speak only when you are asked to and speak in a soft voice. When you talk about others refer them as Mr. Anderson and not with the first name even if that person is your relative.
  • Do not wear hat in the courtroom unless it is for religious reasons.

There was a time when the mere mention of the word divorce used to scare the living daylight out of me. I was leading a wonderful married life. I had a good understanding with my husband and we were going strong. I never thought that I would ever have to face the demon of divorce in my life. But then God has planned something else for me. One fine day my husband walked up to me and said that he wants divorce as he feels that there is nothing left in the marriage. I was shocked to hear this. The next few days passed and the only thing I did was cry. Then I realized that there is no point crying. I talked with my husband and tried to convince him to change his mind. All he said was that he doesn't feel the same way for our marriage now as he used to feel a year back. He told me that he has made up his mind and it would be better if I do the same.

I started my preparation for divorce and read all the information about divorce on www.edivorceadvice.com and asked my husband to opt for a collaborative divorce. He was okay with idea as it this was the best way to get out of the nuptial bond. We sorted out all the issues related to finance and property division. For child custody, both of us agreed on joint legal custody of the child as this was best for the kid's future. We both hired lawyers who had experience in collaborative divorce. Got all the papers done in no time and then filed the divorce papers in the court. I got my divorce done in less than 30 days and in a month's span I was a single mother.

After my divorce I sat down to think what went wrong that wrecked my marriage. To my surprise, I discovered that there were several reasons which I ignored completely when I was married. We both were employed and worked for long hours. This brought distance between me and my ex husband. We spend very less time together and the time we shared, we only talked about work and other things but never about our family. We were so busy in our individual lives that love took a back seat and it destroyed our marriage.

My advice for a happy marriage is to give your marriage a top priority no matter what happens. For humans to survive we have to work, but it should not come in between our relationships. I took an oath to change this and now things are going great in my life. I met a wonderful person and we got married after 6 months of dating. Its been 1 year to our marriage and we going strong. We spend a lot of time together and never allowed love to take a back seat. If you are a married working women then I will advise you to keep your marriage on top and give ample time to your life partner.

The increase of globalization in the world economy is making people to move out of their home town and live in a different country . With the increasing number of people opting for marriage across the border line, legal separation at universal level is slowly but steadily picking up speed. Marriage between people of different countries sounds like a very good idea for a global family but the same time it also gives birth to various issues. At times, it gets difficult for one spouse to adjust in the new surrounding where everything is different like the culture, language , society, food and many other things. This leads to the social and cultural difference between a married couple and ultimately makes it completely difficult for one spouse to live in a foreign country and thus, finally divorce.

International divorce is not an easy process to go by. It requires a better understanding of divorce laws of more than one country. When you apply for a divorce various issues like marital property ownership, immigration, tax, liabilities of due debts, residency, domicile and child custody if any child is involved in divorce will come up and you need to be completely prepared to handle them.

When it comes to child custody, a divorce process can get complex. The problem comes up when a person is applying for child custody and is planning to shift to another country or back to their home country. In such situation, a divorce lawyer can come very handy. The presence of divorce advocate in international divorces can make this whole process smooth and easy. There are many cases of divorce floating around when a spouse was framed for child abduction even after granted the child custody. You can get this issue resolved by getting the court permission in the country where you getting divorced.

Parent divorce is the worst scenario a child can go through in that tender age. There might be other reason for the divorce but children often develop this inside themselves that it is happening because of them. The fear of being unwanted gets hard coated on them thus building a volcano that will erupt in the older half of their life. Death of one of the parent might not leave a life long effect on the kid but the kids who have gone through parent divorce can develop mental disorders in the longer run of the life. The exposure of divorce to a kid is the most staunch prognosticator of early death in adulthood.

There might be thousand of other reason for the end of parent's marriage but the kids often get this feeling that this is happening because of them. One need to make the kid understand that this is not happening because of them. You might not be able to explain reasons for their parents divorce but you need to make them understand this is not because of them but it is because of the parents. You might ask a question to the kid that would you like to see mommy and daddy live together and fight or live separate and be happy". This might not help much but will make the kid understand that they are not the reason behind this whole mess.

Before filling divorce papers, also think about the effects of divorce that the child is going to go through. It can lead to various psychological and behavioral disorders and emotional breakdown. The fear of change creeps inside the child. Everything around them is going to change. The way they used to live their life , go to school or being with both the parents is going to change for ever and they are not able to accept it.

Children often get attached to the surrounding they live in. After the divorce, according to child custody agreement, the child may have to move to a different place leaving every thing behind . Getting accustomed to the new place make children develop a negative behavior issue.

With every divorce comes loads of stress and tension between father and mother. This tension increases during and for a short duration after divorce and they in turn try to turn their child against the other spouse leading to an impossible situation for the children. Making a decision about any of the parent is very hard thing for any child and putting them in a situation like this will lead toward a devastating negative behavior and in ending up in a complete break down.

Parents often make this mistake of considering divorce as their own issue. But they forget that their children also have to go through the divorce and they will be witnessing everything when divorce lawyers take down the union of marriage in front of their eyes.
